In February, Lady J Jewelry will present its tastefully exotic Sweet Leaf Collection, which features geometric patterning of rain forest and other nature motifs in silver, porcupine quills, and leather.
Lady J was founded by Jessica D'Amico, trained at the Pratt Art Institute in sculpture, metal smithing, and jewelry design. She studied under metal smith Maralyn De Silva, creating provocative projects like floor-to-ceiling candelabras and two-foot metal serving spoons, among other items. She started Lady J in 2003. Learn more about Sweet Leaf (pictured, clockwise: earrings, necklace, bracelet) and her other work at the 30Vandam boutique in SoHo or at ladyjjewelry.com.

Roll over pashmina, and tell that old sweater the news. Because here comes The Shoul, a warm, soft, beautiful, and practical wrap that actually stays on your shoulders so you don't have to hunch and clutch. The name's a cross, of course, between shawl and shoulder. Made of a washable acrylic knit foldable to purse size, the Shoul is versatile -- appropriate for day or night; work, casual, or dressy. Fine for reading in a swing chair on the porch, it's also a great travel accessory for those planes with the roller-coaster thermostats. Available in black or tan, it costs $39 plus $4.95 shipping and handling.

This spring, the boundary-pushing J Shoes, of Owings Mills, Maryland, introduces its Lost and Found line, made from recycled shirts bought in Thailand. They're environmentally friendly but exclusive too, with each pair cut from one shirt, meaning your shoes will be, literally, like no one else's. We like the Babette boots for women, too, and are intrigued but still scratching our heads a bit over the Wrench shoes for men.
